Formally-based Model-Driven Development of Collaborative Robotic Applications

Abstract The development of Human Robot Collaborative (HRC) systems faces many challenges. First, HRC should be adaptable and re-configurable to support fast production changes. However, in the applications safety considerations are paramount importance, as much classical activities such task programming deployment. Hence, reconfiguration reprogramming executing tasks might necessary also fulfill desired requirements. Model-based software engineering is a suitable means for agile reconfiguration. We propose model-based design-to-deployment toolchain that simplifies routine updating or modifying tasks. This relies on (i) UML profiles quick model design, (ii) formal verification exhaustive search unsafe situations (caused by intended unintended human behavior) within model, (iii) trans-coding tools automating process. has been evaluated few realistic case studies. In this paper, we show couple them illustrate applicability approach.
